Budget Line Items of Interest:
Infrastructure Budget Bill – HF 2691
- Community Attraction and Tourism Program: $10 million appropriation for FY 2025 from the Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund (RIIF) to the IEDA for the Community Attraction and Tourism Fund. This is a status quo appropriation.
- Destination Iowa Fund: $10 million appropriation for FY 2025 from the RIIF to the IEDA for the Destination Iowa Fund. This is an increase of $3.5 million compared to estimated FY 2024.
- Regional Sports Authority Districts: $700,000 appropriation for FY 2025 from the RIIF to the IEDA for equal distribution to Regional Sports Authority districts. This is a status quo appropriation.
- Major Events and Tourism Fund: $10 million appropriation for FY 2025 from the RIIF to the Iowa Major Events and Tourism Fund. This appropriation was contingent on the enactment of SF 2419 (Tourism and Opportunity Fund Bill). Although SF 2419 did not pass this session, we have created a placeholder.
- Water Trails and Low Head Dams Safety Grants: $1.5 million appropriation for FY 2025 from the RIIF to the DNR for the Water Trails and Low Head Dams Public Hazard Program. This is a status quo appropriation.
- Recreational Trails: $3.5 million appropriation for FY 2025 from the RIIF to the Department of Transportation for the Recreational Trails Program. Of this total amount, $1 million is intended to be a one-time appropriation.
