About Burlington Riverfront Entertainment (BRE):
Burlington Riverfront Entertainment (BRE) is a 501c3 organization dedicated to providing quality entertainment to Southeast Iowa. Properties managed include the Burlington Memorial Auditorium, Port of Burlington, and the Burlington Depot, fostering cultural experiences within the community.

Position Summary:

As the Executive Director of Burlington Riverfront Entertainment, you will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to advance the mission and objectives of our entertainment venue. You will work closely with the board of directors to develop and implement strategies for organizational growth, financial sustainability, and community impact.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives.
  2. Lead fundraising efforts to secure grants, sponsorships, donations, and other revenue sources to support venue operations and programs.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, donors, sponsors, media outlets, and community partners.
  4. Oversee fiscal management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  5. Provide oversight and guidance to department heads and staff members to ensure effective operations and program delivery.
  6. Represent the organization in public forums, conferences, and community events to raise awareness and promote our mission and initiatives.
  7. Develop and implement organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  8. Collaborate with the board of directors to recruit, onboard new members, and provide regular updates on organizational performance and achievements.
  9. Serve as a spokesperson for the organization, communicating our mission, values, and impact to internal and external audiences.
  10. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the organization.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, arts management, or a related field, or related experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit organization, entertainment venue, or related field.
  • Demonstrated success in fundraising, fiscal management, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and lead teams toward common goals.
  • Passion for the arts, entertainment, and community engagement.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Full time position
  • Regular office hours are 9 AM – 4:30 PM; nights and weekend required for events
  • Starting pay: $60,000/year, negotiable based on experience
