Full-time and Hourly: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM with some weekends, as needed
Reporting Structure: Vice President, Business Growth & Director, Sports QC

Position Purpose
The Business Growth & Service Manager for Visit Quad Cities will serve in a full-time capacity to support the Business Growth & Service department function. She/He will perform duties related to business development through prospecting, cultivating new and existing relationships, and driving booked business opportunities within various verticals. The outcomes produced by this role will be securing meetings, conferences, group tours, and events for the region. This role manages a portfolio of accounts, provides high-level service for booked business, strengthens partner relationships, and helps enhance the visitor experience. Additionally, this position will be responsible for external relationship development and cultivation among destination stakeholders and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure effective integration in helping to build the Quad Cities story and reinforcing Visit Quad Cities value to the region.
Position Role and Accountability Description
Business Development
- Research, identify, and solicit new business accounts focused on Illinois, Iowa, Midwest, and national association, corporate, and government markets.
- Manage assigned account base with consistent outreach and relationship development.
- Maintain accurate profiles, leads, results, and commitments in Simpleview CRM.
- Represent VQC at industry meetings, conferences, and tradeshows for business development and relationship building. These may include out-of-town travel events.
- Align with hotels, venues, attractions, restaurants, retail, and regional partners to book business.
Client Engagement & Service
- Schedule and conduct site inspections, FAM tours, planning meetings, and partner introductions.
- Assess visitor needs and coordinate services for group business, as necessary.
- Manage service request leads and distribute partner bid opportunities.
- Maintain service traces and ensure consistent delivery of high client service standards.
- Manage the customer onsite experience for all assigned VQC business.
- Schedule meetings with clients to confirm group activities, expectations, and deadlines.
Community & Organizational Engagement
- Serve as liaison to MPI, Iowa Society of Association Executives, and Meet in Illinois.
- Support Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) program through presentations and training.
- Partner with volunteer committees as assigned.
- Collaborate with internal departments on event support, collateral development, and visitor experience initiatives.
Reporting & Administrative Responsibilities
- Track and report booked business results, progress toward goals, and market insights.
- Support creation of itineraries, service plans, operational documents, and client proposals.
- Maintain knowledge of regional assets, tourism trends, and competitor destinations.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the organization’s mission.
Experience and Background Required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in hospitality, tourism, marketing, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in hospitality, destination marketing, event services, sales, or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a high demand environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; some customer relationship management (CRM) experience.
- Knowledge of or interest in learning the Quad Cities region.
Physical Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods.
- Ability to work outside and in multiple weather conditions.
- Office: ability to lift to 20 lbs., as available.
- Events: ability to lift to 40 lbs., as available.
