Brett Bachtle grew up in Iowa and began his career as a television news reporter in the Midwest, covering stories that shaped local communities. He later transitioned into destination marketing, serving several years at an Iowa CVB where he gained hands-on experience in tourism promotion and digital storytelling. Today, Brett partners with DMOs nationwide on content collaborations, blending his background in journalism and marketing to showcase destinations in authentic and engaging ways.
Megan Bannister: Content Creator
Megan Bannister is a Chicago native turned proud Iowan who has called Des Moines home for over 15 years. In 2012, she launched Olio in Iowa, a travel blog that began as a way to explore her new hometown and has grown into a go-to source for roadside adventures, small-town discoveries, and the quirky “world’s largest” attractions across the country. A passionate storyteller and road trip enthusiast, Megan believes the journey is just as important as the destination.
